I worked with Aida of Safe Rebirth while organizing my colovaginoplasty in Spain. She and Oscar are very easy to work with. They were quick to answer my questions and Aida was able to arrange my first consult with my surgeon very quickly. She was also on the video call consult. My surgeon spoke very good English, but alas there were a few times where Aida had to step in to translate. She was wonderful at keeping everything on track from the consult, the paperwork, making sure I scheduled the right pre-surgery tests, following up on the results to make sure they had been sent to the surgeon, and the payments. While in Barcelona for the surgery, Aida and Oscar helped my check-in to the clinic go smoothly. They go above and beyond to make sure the patients have a good experience. They stayed and visited with me for a bit after my check-in. I was there by myself and a little anxious about the surgery, so this was very much appreciated. They also checked in on me with WhatsApp almost every day to see if there was anything I needed including helping me communicate with the nurses. Most nurses spoke some English and could lean on colleagues for help if there was something that we couldn't communicate. But it was nice knowing that Aida and Oscar could help if I needed it. And finally, when it was getting close to the day I would leave to fly home, Aida and Oscar came to see me at my hotel near the clinic. It was a social visit as well as to get feedback on what went well and what could be done differently to improve the experience. I thought that was really good. I know that I was the benefactor of a previous patient providing feedback about including supplies for dilation with the dilator kit the surgeon was already providing. That was very much appreciated as it made the experience so much easier for me.

If you are considering surgery in Spain, you should contact Safe Rebirth. They not only represented the plastic surgeon that did my colovaginoplasty, but they represent doctors for other specialties as well. I found the prices for doctors in Spain are much more reasonable than in the USA where I am from. And, my experience with my surgeon was very very good.

I first saw Aida on their TikTok channel. She gave great information there and when I asked questions, she invited me to chat with her in a more private venue. She answered all my questions no matter how silly they seemed to me. When it came time for my surgery consultation, she helped facilitate and aided with communication, as I don't speak Spanish very well, and Catalan not at all. Safe Rebirth has been a supportive and consistent presence in my transition journey. I honestly don't know what the process would look like without them.

Aida is such a lovely person. I felt instantly safe with her while talking to her on the phone. She‘s incredible helpful, understanding and guided me trough the process.

She organized two video consultations with different surgeons, she was always part of the consultations and helped out a bit with language problems (really only just a few, tiny times).

I only can recommend Aida if someone is thinking about getting the surgery in Spain. Do not hesitate to contact her, she‘s absolutely helpful and knows all about it.

I met Aida in 2023, as director of the international department. I must say she always answered all my questions; for me, she was someone who did her job. But when I arrived in Spain and met her in person, she really made me feel more at ease.

I decided to have surgery 2 years ago, Aida was my patient liaison. Any questions I had were quickly answered. When I was over in Barcelona, she was there at every step. A year later, I had my second surgery, and again, Aida was there at every step. Aida ticks every box from helping with translation to making your nerves ease away.

My first contact with Aida, one of the founders of Safe Rebirth, was back in august 2022. I was in the middle of my very own life changing process, and I had realised I could not wait for the public health care system in Norway to provide the help I needed. The waiting lists were and still are too long. I had to take control over my own life and process. After doing my own research on where I could get help, I had a short list of clinics I rated very similar based on quality of the results, price and recommendations from other patients. Aida worked at one of these clinics. My very first reply from Aida back then was this: «Dear Tone, I hope all is well with you! I’m your International Patient Coordinator and I’ll be guiding you through the whole process». And that was exactly what happened. Long story short, I selected the clinic that Aida worked for, and it was one of the best decisions I have made so far in my life. Aida is a wonderful person with great knowledge and a genuine big heart for the patients who need gender affirming surgery. To have someone like Aida supporting the process takes away a lot of the stress you experience, and it's also a huge quality assurance that takes care of everything you know, you don't know or should know. I cannot recommend Aida and Safe Rebirth enough as a partner to your gender affirming journey. My perhaps most memorable and needed moment from Aida was a reply to a message I sent to her just before I boarded my flight to the clinic: «Don't worry about a thing ... chill, you've got enough on your plate». I highly recommend you to contact Safe Rebirth if you are at a stage in your own life that requires gender affirming care and treatment. You will be in the best hands possible and taken well care of all the way!
